Welcome
Tell your story now! Legislators need to hear how their decisions will affect elderly Mainers. Low-income seniors are struggling to pay for food, heat and other necessities. Some seniors who lose benefits will stop taking their medication or will not take it as prescribed.
This will result in increased cost to the system when these seniors become ill and require medical attention. These cuts are likely to break the already fragile safety net for many Maine seniors and it will cost us all more in the end.
Call representatives on the Appropriations Committee and let your voice be heard. Ask to to stop proposed cuts to the Drugs for the Elderly and the Medicare Savings Program. Tell your story.

Welcome to Eastern Area Agency on Aging
Eastern Area Agency on Aging is the best source of information, options and services for seniors, adults with disabilities and caregivers.
Eastern Area Agency on Aging has been serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, Hancock, and Washington counties since 1973. With a specially trained and dedicated staff, we are able to provide seniors, adults with disabilities and caregivers with a variety of options, opportunities, resources and referrals.
EAAA has many programs listed on the left.
EAAA is an independent, nonprofit 501(c)3 organization managed by a professional staff and governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, comprised of representatives from our four county service area. We also have a regional volunteer advisory council to help us identify the needs of seniors and find ways to meet those needs.
Our programs succeed thanks in large part to our volunteers.
Programs funded in part by the State of Maine Department of Health & Human Services and the agency is a part of a nationwide network of agencies on aging established by the federal government’s Older Americans Act. Eastern Area Agency on Aging is a United Way Partnership Agency.
