Eastern Area Agency on Aging is currently accepting applications for a full-time 32 hours per week, Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) Specialist. This position provides information and assistance to older adults and adults with disabilities regarding state and federal services and benefit programs, as well as local community resources. The role also requires the ADRC Specialist to become knowledgeable in Medicare. This position will be based in the employees’ home in Piscataquis County. Some community travel will be required.
A bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Human Development, Gerontology, or related field required, LSW preferred. Community resource knowledge preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Database experience is essential.

The role also requires the ADRC Specialist to become knowledgeable about Medicare. The position will be based out of their home in Hancock County and occasionally report to the Brewer and Ellsworth offices, some community travel is also required.
This position also oversees the Money Minders Program, where they will offer ongoing support and supervision of volunteers who provide direct service to low income clients who are older or disabled by making visits to the client’s home on a regular basis, assisting the client in the preparation of checks from a designated account to pay monthly bills and properly maintaining the check register. They are also responsible for maintaining records and completing reports for the Money Minders Program.
A bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Human Development, Gerontology, or related field required, LSW preferred. Medicare and community resource knowledge preferred. Willingness and ability to become State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) certified upon hire. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Experience with public speaking preferred. Proficiency in MS Office and database experience essential.

Eastern Area Agency on Aging is seeking an enthusiastic, positive, and deadline driven, individual, with high attention to detail to fill the full-time position of Communications and Development Director.
The Communications & Development Director at the Eastern Area Agency on Aging (EAAA) works with all aspects of the organization to ensure clear, consistent, and impactful communication which builds strong relationships with consumers, partners, community members, foundations, and stakeholders. Many forms of communication are used to create impact and deliver messaging.
The Director will spearhead development efforts at an exciting time of organizational growth. The Director will have the opportunity to create, build and implement the annual development plan as well as the future strategic plans of the agency by putting strong procedures in place and working directly with the Development and Fundraising Committee to position EAAA for success.
The Director is responsible for building positive relationships with current and prospective donors, communicating with donors, and drawing up plans to ensure annual targets are met. An organized, proactive leader, the Director will take EAAA’s fundraising function into its next phase of sophistication and growth. The Director will foster a culture of philanthropy among Board, Advisory Council, Staff and Volunteers of EAAA.
The candidate should have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, customers, and the general public. Excellent interpersonal, planning, collaboration and organizational skills are necessary. Good verbal and written communications skills, including presentations skills are essential.
At least five years fundraising experience in a non-profit setting that includes experience in budget development and monitoring.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Development, Communications, Business, Public Relations, or related field required.
Travel is required throughout the four county coverage area. Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and be able to pass federally required background and driver’s background checks. Willingness and ability to attend meetings and events outside regular work hours as needed.
