Eastern Area Agency on Aging is currently looking for a full-time Durgin Center
Supervisor. This position is responsible for the daily management of the Durgin Center in
Brewer. The Supervisor will also conduct oversight of Wellness and Enrichment
Programs. The supervisor is responsible for ensuring there is a team environment with
open communication. The supervisor is the expert in the field and can efficiently
manage daily operations and fill positions as needed. The supervisor will coach, guide,
and train employees. The supervisor will be well-versed in processes under each role’s
responsibility and will be results-driven and focused. The supervisor will ensure that
operations at the Durgin Center are following regulations and procedures and are
carried out productively. This supervisor assists in marketing and networking to
encourage program growth.
A bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Human Development, Gerontology,
or related field required. Two to three years of experience supervising staff and
volunteers and experience coordinating and organizing events and activities is desired.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential as well as the ability to
keep clients satisfied by assisting with requests and problem resolution, both in person
and on the phone.
Must have a valid drivers license and proof of vehicle insurance, along with reliable
transportation

Eastern Area Agency on Aging is currently accepting applications for a 32 hour per week, Medicare Specialist. The Medicare Specialist provides access and advocacy for Medicare programs and support services for aging clients and those with disabilities. The Specialist coordinates, provides education, assists with enrollment and advocates for Medicare beneficiaries. The Specialist responds to clients regarding questions and concerns on Medicare related topics and stays abreast on changes to Medicare. The Specialist updates staff and volunteers with new and pertinent information. The Specialist builds and supports a team of volunteers covering all four counties served. The Specialist is the expert in Medicare for EAAA and educates the community on Medicare and volunteer opportunities through Medicare 101 presentations. Some travel within our four-county coverage area is required.
A bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Human Development, Gerontology, or related field required. Must be willing to obtain and maintain a State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) Certification. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Two to three years of experience in community service related field is required, insurance experience preferred. Must have a valid driver license and proof of vehicle insurance along with reliable transportation.

This position provides information and assistance to older adults and adults with disabilities regarding state and federal services, benefit programs, and community resources. The position would be home based within one of our rural communities (Piscataquis, Hancock, Washington, or Northern Penobscot Counties), some travel within our four-county coverage area is required.

Eastern Area Agency on Aging (EAAA) is accepting applications for a full-time, 30-32 hour per week recruiter. The recruiter will build strong partnerships both inside and outside EAAA to attract employees, volunteers, and contractors. The recruiter works with staff across the agency to ensure operations are appropriately staffed in order to meet the organization’s mission and goals.
The recruiter collaborates with the human resources director to identify, develop, and implement creative volunteer recruitment strategies as well as methods to attract and retain volunteers. They will seek out and develop meaningful relationships with partners, institutions or other channels (e.g. online platforms, social media) that can provide candidates with the right skill sets. The recruiter will work with identified organizations to understand specific agency needs, build partnerships with individuals and entities to gain access to pools of potential volunteers, and define a process for ongoing recruitment. They connect qualified candidates with current or anticipated position openings for volunteers, employees and contractors.
The agency is seeking a professional with at least two years of human resources experience, preferably focused on recruiting. Experience working with volunteers is desired. Candidate must have excellent interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as a team. This position requires good computer skills including being proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel. Candidate must be comfortable learning multiple new software applications.
A two-year Associate’s Degree in Business or Human Resources is required. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance.
