Eastern Area Agency on Aging is currently accepting applications for a 40 hour per week coordinator position based in our Brewer location to oversee the Money Minders Program and State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP). The Coordinator provides ongoing support and supervision of volunteers who provide direct service to clients eligible for the programs. The Coordinator performs the initial and annual home visit for Money Minders clients to determine program eligibility and complete necessary paperwork. The Coordinator supports the volunteers with Medicare Counseling and oversees Medicare Open Enrollment. The Coordinator must obtain SHIP Certification and will also assist with Medicare appointments as needed. The Coordinator is responsible for scheduling volunteers, maintaining records, and completing reports for both programs. The Coordinator will also provide back up support as needed for the Care Coordinator.
High School diploma or GED required. Associates’ Degree in Social Work, Human Development or related field of study preferred. At least two years of experience working with and supervising volunteers is preferred. Good written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills. Candidate must have familiarity with basic household financial practices and must possess a valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance. Candidate must become SHIP Certified upon hire.

Eastern Area Agency on Aging is currently accepting applications for a 30 hour per week Community Education and Marketing Coordinator position based in our Brewer location. The Community Education and Marketing Coordinator is responsible for completing community outreach and education of all EAAA programs throughout the four-county region. This includes but is not limited to in-person agency presentations, participating in community meetings, television, and radio. The Coordinator will also be responsible for EAAA’s social media accounts, creating flyers, newsletters, and other marketing material.
This position works with partner agencies to offer services to our clients, such as AARP tax appointments and safe driving courses, Collette vacations, and Drug Take Back and Shredding events with the Sheriff’s Office.
This position also supports the Community Engagement and Activities Manager (CEAM) with a range of community relations, marketing, communications, and fundraising activities, and work collaboratively with the Volunteer Specialist and CEAM to gain and maintain business and corporate volunteers.
High School diploma or GED required. Associates’ Degree in Social Work, Human Development or related field of study preferred. At least two years of planning and performing tasks appropriate. Good written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills. Must possess a valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance. Previous public speaking experience is desired.

Eastern Area Agency on Aging is currently recruiting for a full-time Meals Distribution Coordinator (MDC) for its Meals on Wheels & Community Café program in the greater Brewer area. The position is 30 hours per week based out of the Durgin Center location in the Twin City Plaza in Brewer.
This position will primarily assist with the coordination and sending out of local volunteer delivery drivers. Employee will be required to stoop and/or bend and lift up to 30 pounds as well as be able to spend time in a walk-in freezer to sort and organize meals. The MDC is also responsible for tracking meals delivered and volunteer hours using our SAMS database.
The Meals Distribution Coordinator must respond to the needs of clients and volunteers in a manner that represents the agency in a positive way and supports a team approach.
High School diploma or GED required. Knowledge of services and programs available for older persons preferred. Must possess a valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance. Basic computer skills are required.
